I'm Alex , I'm a freelance drummer based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. I have been playing drums since I was 12 years old. During this time I have been lucky enough to work with a wide range of excellent people and I've gained a lot of experience with recording, touring, video and photo shoots in U.K. Europe and U.S.A. I can play most styles of music but I am most experienced with metal, goth, punk, rock and alternative genres. I am very experienced with backing tracks and metronomes/click tracks both in studio situations and live, and I can sing backing vocals whilst playing including harmonies. I am used to working to deadlines and with all kinds of creative approaches/structures from recording origanal tracks for my own bands to sessions for other bands or recording work with independant production teams, such as for advert music or sample looping. I am available for all kinds of session work including tours, one off live shows, recording, pre-production and video shoots, short or long term projects.

Equipment

I use Mapex birch shell drums, my kit is 10,12,13 inch rack toms, 14,16 inch floor toms, two 22 by 18 inch kick drums. For snare drums I use a mapex birch shell 14 inch by 5.5 inch and a yamaha 14 inch by 6.5 inch steel shell. I mostly use evans drum heads.

I have various cymbals including Sabian aax stage series 16,18 inch crashes, 14 inch aa/aax hihats, 20 inch ride, zildjian 20 inch earth ride, 18 inch china, paiste 22 inch 2002 black label china, stagg myra 17 inch rock crash, 19 inch myra rock crash and 14 inch hihats. My cymbals change regularly since they eventually break and have to be replaced, so I'm always trying different brands and combinations to find the sound I need for a given project.
